Latest Fishing Conditions & What’s Biting in Port Aransas
Port Aransas Park - Nueces, TX
Anglers in Port Aransas, Texas, are enjoying prime fishing conditions both inshore and offshore. With warm Gulf waters and steady bait movement, the bite has been consistent across multiple species. Inshore, redfish and speckled trout are being caught near the flats and marshes, especially around Lighthouse Lakes and Estes Flats. Live shrimp under popping corks and soft plastics are producing solid numbers. Flounder are also showing up near structure and channels, offering great action on jig setups.
Offshore fishing out of Port Aransas has been outstanding, especially for kingfish, mahi-mahi, and blackfin tuna. Charter boats heading 30+ miles offshore are finding success trolling skirted baits and rigged ballyhoo. Snapper fishing is hot around reefs and rigs, with limits being reached quickly. Cobia and amberjack are also making appearances, offering big fights and even bigger photo ops. The jetties remain a solid backup plan with a mix of sheepshead, Spanish mackerel, and occasional jack crevalle.
